Bangladesh’s imports of Duplex Board (HS Code 48109200)
From January to June 2025, Bangladesh’s Duplex Board imports remained stable overall, with the highest monthly value of USD 18.8 million in May. Imports increased by about 21% from the first to the second quarter, indicating ongoing industrial recovery and expanding packaging activity.

Imported Duplex Boards are mainly coated grey-back or white-back grades (300–400 GSM), used in cartons, folding boxes, labels, and printing applications. These materials are widely adopted by Bangladesh’s garment packaging, printing, and accessories industries, where domestic production capacity remains insufficient.
According to NBD DATA
The largest buyer, NRG Printing and Packaging Ltd.
Dynamic Packaging Industry Pvt. ranked second with about USD 1.5 million, sourcing coated Duplex Boards for high-end garment boxes.
Other notable importers included Union Label and Accessories Ltd., A S Packaging, SR Flexopack Ltd., P.S. Accessories Industries Ltd., and Patriot Packaging Industry, each importing between USD 600,000 and USD 2 million.
Together, these seven companies accounted for over 30% of the country’s total Duplex Board imports in 2025 H1.
Bangladesh’s supply network for Duplex Board is dominated by China, India, and South Korea.
China led the list with approximately USD 36 million in exports, mainly from Guangxi Jingui Pulp & Paper Co. and Bofeng Group Holdings (HK) Ltd.
India followed closely at around USD 31.5 million, with major suppliers such as Emami Paper Mills Ltd., Krishna Tissues Pvt. Ltd., and Mehali Papers Pvt. Ltd.
South Korean producers, led by Hansol Paper Co. Ltd. and Klean Nara Co. Ltd., shipped roughly USD 10.2 million worth of high-quality coated grades.
Smaller but significant contributions came from Singapore (USD 4.3 million) and Indonesia (USD 2.2 million) through companies like Asia Pacific Paperboard Trading Pte. Ltd., Fujito Pte. Ltd., and Lion Pulp and Paper Co.
Bangladesh’s reliance on imported Duplex Board continues to grow due to:
Expanding garment and footwear packaging demand
Rising FMCG and printing industry output
Limited domestic production capability
Local converters tend to prefer 300–350 GSM grey-back boards for cost and print performance, while white-back Duplex Boards are increasingly used in premium product packaging.
With manufacturing expansion and steady consumption growth, Bangladesh’s Duplex Board imports are projected to exceed USD 180 million by the end of 2025.
Even as domestic mills increase capacity, imported coated boards will remain essential for consistent quality and supply stability.
