In the first half of 2025, Pakistan’s leather garment industry once again demonstrated resilience and adaptability in global markets. According to NBD DATA
The export data reveal that Pakistan’s leather sector—particularly concentrated in Sialkot, Karachi, and Lahore—continues to leverage its craftsmanship, material quality, and price competitiveness to maintain its presence in premium niche markets such as motorcycle gear and urban fashion apparel.
From January to June 2025, Pakistan’s total exports of leather vests showed steady month-to-month performance, with several noticeable peaks linked to pre-season replenishments by European and American retailers.

Exports remained most active during February and March, with combined sales exceeding USD 940,000. This pattern aligns with Europe’s spring season procurement cycles, when motorcycle and fashion brands typically restock new leatherwear collections.
While Pakistan’s leather garment exports are smaller in scale compared with textiles, the average unit price of leather vests—USD 12.55 per piece— underscores the product’s value-added nature and its alignment with specialized consumer segments.
Pakistan’s leather vests continued to attract demand from small and mid-sized fashion and motorcycle gear distributors across North America, Europe, and Oceania. The top buyers in the first half of 2025 included:
SHAF INTERNATIONAL INC. (United States) – Purchase value USD 563,604, sourcing mainly from LANCER SURGICAL COMPANY.
FASHION HUB PTY LTD.(Australia) – Purchase value USD 57,161, supplied by Y A S LEATHER GARMENTS
LEATHER STORE INC. (United States) – Purchase value USD 11,482, sourcing from MAHNOOR & CO.
MASTERWEARS INC. (United States) – Purchase value USD 4,458, supplied by APPARELS GUIDE.
A & H APPAREL LLC (United States) – Purchase value USD 19,909, buying from LEATHER FAIR INDUSTRIES
These buyers illustrate a distinct B2B niche structure—rather than high-volume retail chains, Pakistan’s leather vests are primarily sold to wholesalers and specialty brands that cater to motorcycle apparel, protective gear, and custom leather fashion.
On the supply side, Pakistan’s exporters demonstrated a diversified yet concentrated structure, with a few companies dominating export volumes. The leading exporters in H1 2025 were:
Y A S LEATHER GARMENTS – Export value USD 62,933, key buyers include FASHION HUB PTY LTD. and GERMAN WEAR GMBH.
LANCER SURGICAL COMPANY – Export value USD 558,942, supplying SHAF INTERNATIONAL INC.
KRONES INTERNATIONAL – Export value USD 14,498, selling to SHARKSPEED and other European distributors.
MAHNOOR & CO.– Export value USD 12,497, primarily exporting to LEATHER STORE INC. (US).
LEATHER FAIR INDUSTRIES – Export value USD 33,732, key customers include A & H APPAREL LLC (US) and MC CUSTOMS APS (Denmark).
These companies, mostly based in Sialkot and Karachi, specialize in the production of motorcycle jackets, leather vests, and gloves, often catering to customized small-batch orders. Their agility and craftsmanship continue to make them reliable partners for Western boutique labels.
The monthly trade data reveal a cyclical pattern that reflects both climatic demand and retail procurement schedules.
January–March: High export volumes driven by spring collection orders.
April–May: Moderate slowdown as brands complete restocking.
June: Gradual decline ahead of mid-year factory maintenance periods.
Despite these natural fluctuations, the sector maintained export values above USD 200,000 in most months—a sign of strong baseline demand from recurring clients.
Exports were widely distributed, reaching buyers across Europe, North America, and Oceania. The United States remained Pakistan’s largest single destination, accounting for roughly 40% of total export value. Australia and the United Kingdom followed, each representing about 10–12%.
In Europe, Germany, Sweden, and the Netherlands emerged as growing destinations, reflecting the popularity of Pakistan-made leather vests among motorcycle apparel brands. Notably, export descriptions frequently contained terms such as “biker vest,” “cowhide waistcoat,” “vintage leather gear,” and “protective riding wear,” confirming the dominance of motorcycle and vintage fashion segments in this category.
Pakistan’s leather apparel industry continues to evolve through a combination of traditional craftsmanship and incremental modernization. The country’s exporters are investing in digital pattern cutting, eco-friendly tanning, and quality assurance processes to align with international standards such as REACH and ISO 9001.
Leading exporters like Y A S LEATHER GARMENTS and LANCER SURGICAL COMPANY are expanding product ranges beyond vests to include full-grain jackets and protective motorcycle suits. Simultaneously, small workshops are strengthening their presence on B2B e-commerce platforms, attracting buyers who prefer customized short-run production.
However, the sector still faces challenges including fluctuating raw leather prices, energy costs, and compliance with environmental regulations. The next growth stage will depend on broader adoption of traceable supply chain systems and green certification to meet buyer expectations in the EU and North America.
Looking ahead, Pakistan’s leather vest exports are expected to maintain a steady upward trajectory throughout 2025. The global revival of motorcycle tourism and the growing popularity of vintage leather fashion are likely to sustain demand.
In addition, free trade negotiations between Pakistan and various European partners could improve tariff conditions for leather goods. With enhanced design innovation and quality control, the country has the potential to position itself not only as a manufacturing hub but also as a creative exporter in the global leather apparel market.
